Wal-Mart will pay up to $28 million to resolve workers' wage and hour claims in Indiana
On September 16, an Indiana Court approved Wal-Mart's agreement to pay up to 28 million dollars to settle claims by 290,000 Indiana employees that they were forced to work "off the clock" and denied bathroom and meal breaks. Earlier this year, Wal-Mart agreed to pay 54 million dollars to employees in Minnesota and 55 million or more to employees in Missouri. In total, Wal-Mart has agreed, in the past year, to pay between $350 and $640 million dollars to settle 63 class-action lawsuits alleging violation of employee's rights.
