Court dismisses ministers' claim that publication defamed them or was intentional infliction of emotional distress
In Nykoriak v. Bilinski, the Court of Appeals upheld the lower court's summary disposition of a claim by two ministers against members of their parish. The ministers argued that the defendants were "unruly, profane, and disseminated false information about them." The Court ruled that the defendants' actions were "mere insults, indignities, threats, annoyances, petty oppressions or other trivialities..." that did not state actual facts constituting defamation.
