Court requires strict compliance with Notice of Injury against City

Catherine Curry was badly hurt in a fall at the Herman Keifer Hospital Building, owned by the City of Detroit.  Her employer completed an Incident Investigation Report, and Curry claimed she delivered that to the City within days.  Six days after the fall, apparently in response to Curry's report, the City prepared its own Security Incident Report.

Nevertheless, the Court dismissed Curry's injury claim at the City's request, because in the Court's opinion, her report did not comply with the statutory requirement that it identify "the exact location...of the defect" that caused her fall and was not properly served when she delivered it to a City clerk.  Her [defective] Report, prepared by her employer, merely identified the "North Stairwell--Bldg No. one", which the Court deemed inadequate to meet statutory requirements.
