Court upholds Blue Cross Blue Shield access fee for self-insureds
Several Michigan cities and municipalities sued Blue Cross Blue Shield, arguing that the insurer's enrollment "access fee" on self-insured entities was illegal. This week, the Court of Appeals rejected their claim. The case was entitled County of Midland v. Blue Cross Blue Shield, and it had resulted in a verdict for the Plaintiff in the amount of $1,028,052 in the trial court.
