Partner Dan O'Neil invited to speak at Washington, DC, "think-tank."
Last week, our partner, Dan O'Neil was one of four participants in a round-table discussion aired by a nationally-known Washington "think-tank," the Center for American Progress. The subject of the round-table was "No Justice for Injured Workers or Consumers." As one might expect, the insurance- and special-interest-friendly activist Republican Justices of the Michigan Supreme Court, and Michigan's gerry-mandered, Republican-dominated Legislature were recognized as two of the worst abusers of the middle class. Over the past decade, in the name of higher corporate and insurance profits, these activists have shifted much of the cost of negligent behavior, unsafe products and environmental degradation to the victims, themselves, and to social welfare resources like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
