Social worker granted immunity against claims by father who lost custody of child.

Ricky Pittman sued Cynthia Hurry and the Cuyahoga County D.C.S., alleging that Hurry caused him to lost custody of his child by impeding his ability to participate in custody proceedings.  He claimed that she was guilty of gross negligence and a breach of section 1983 in failing to allow him to engage in the proceedings, thereby denying him the fundamental constitutional right to due process in parental custody proceedings.  The Sixth Circuit held that Hurry was immune from liability with regard to Pittman's claims.
